Privacy Policy

ComicOracle ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our iOS application.

Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to provide the service:

Anonymous Device ID: A randomly generated identifier stored on your device. It is never linked to your name, email, or any personally identifiable information.
Comic Images: Photos you submit for AI identification or grading are transmitted to our servers for processing and are deleted immediately after the AI response is returned. We do not store your images.
Subscription Status: Whether you are a free or premium subscriber, managed by RevenueCat. We do not have access to your payment details.
Usage Events: Anonymized in-app events (e.g., "scan completed", "paywall shown") collected via Mixpanel to help us improve the product.

Information We Do NOT Collect

Your name, email address, or phone number
Your precise location
Your contacts or calendar
Any biometric data

How We Use Your Information

To provide AI comic identification and grade prediction
To manage your subscription and enforce usage quotas
To send optional local price-alert notifications (scheduled on your device)
To analyze aggregate usage patterns and improve the app

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

RevenueCat — Subscription management (revenuecat.com/privacy)
Mixpanel — Usage analytics (mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy)
Anthropic / Google / OpenAI — AI inference for image analysis (images deleted after response)
Cloudflare — Infrastructure and edge computing (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy)
Comic Vine / GoCollect — Comic metadata and pricing data (no personal data shared)

App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

On iOS, we may request permission to track your activity across apps and websites for advertising measurement purposes. You can grant or deny this permission at any time in your iOS Settings. Denying permission does not affect core app functionality.

Data Retention

Images: Deleted from our servers immediately after processing
Usage events: Retained in anonymized form for up to 24 months
Device ID: Retained while you use the app; cleared when you uninstall

Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or California, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold. Since we collect minimal data linked only to an anonymous device ID, you can effectively reset your data by uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Children's Privacy

ComicOracle is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
